В России есть несколько памятников, посвящённых буквам русского алфавита. Памятник букве А находится в Новосибирске. Буква А появилась в 2007 году в парке у театра Глобус. Это работа русского дизайнера Петра Шабалина.

You have already studied the Russian alphabet. It's time to learn more about letters! In Russia there are several monuments dedicated to letters of the Russian alphabet. Monument to the letter A is located in Novosibirsk. The letter A appeared in 2007 in the Park near the Globe theatre. This is the work of Russian designer Peter Shabalin.

Буква ё – седьмая буква русского алфавита. Памятник ё находится в Ульяновске. Он был создан в 2005 году. У буквы ё долгая история. В 1783 году на заседании Академии наук княгиня Дашкова предложила ввести в русский алфавит букву ё. Российский историк Николай Карамзин первым стал использовать новую букву алфавита. В 1797 году было опубликовано стихотворение Карамзина в альманахе «Аониды» с буквой ё. Ту первую букву ё скопировали современные художники, чтобы сделать памятник. Букву ё теперь обнимают туристы в Ульяновске со словами «Ё-моё!» и улыбкой на лице.

The letter ё is the seventh letter of the Russian alphabet. Monument ё is located in Ulyanovsk. It was established in 2005. The letter ё has a long history. In 1783, at a meeting of the Academy of Sciences, Princess Dashkova proposed to add the new letter into the Russian alphabet for writing words like «ёлка». Russian historian Nikolai Karamzin was the first to use a new letter of the alphabet. In 1797, a poem by Karamzin was published in the anthology "Aonids" with the letter ё. That first letter ё was copied by contemporary artists to make a monument. The letter ё is now embraced by tourists in Ulyanovsk with the words "Ё-моё" and a smile on their faces.

В 2011 году в Перми появилась большая буква П. Её высота 12 метров. Буква состоит из 5 200 еловых брёвен. Буква П находится в Парке камней. Этот памятник называют Пермские ворота. Имя автора – Николай Полисский. Буква П в Перми – объект Музея современного искусства.

In 2011, a large letter П appeared in Perm. Its height is 12 meters. The letter consists of 5,200 spruce logs. The letter П is in the Rock Park. This monument is called the Perm gate. The author's name is Nikolai Polissky. The letter П in Perm is an object of the Museum of modern art.
