November, 2019. A monument to the "Explanatory dictionary of the alive great Russian language" was opened in Russia, in the city of Orenburg in honor of the birthday of the lexicographer Vladimir D al. "Explanatory dictionary" - the main work of the scientist, the first edition consisted of 4 (four) volumes.

Hello, guys. Today let's talk about nouns, the important part of speech which has some peculiarities in Russian. We need nouns when speak about things, people, facts, animals, art, whatever you like. So what is important about nouns when you learn Russian?

There are 10 parts of speech in Russian language. Little by little you will know them all.  1. Noun (существи́тельное): дом, сад, мечта 2. Pronoun (местоиме́ние): я, ты, они, вы, мой, чей, наш... 3. Ajective (прилага́тельное): хороший (дом), плохая (погода), прекрасная (картина)... 4. Verb (глаго́л): читать, делать, говорить, петь 5. Adverb (наре́чие): хорошо, плохо, отлично, превосходно 6. Numeral (числи́тельное): один, десять, сто, миллион 7. Preposition (предло́г): в, на 8. Conjunction (сою́з): и, а 9. Particle (части́ца): не 10. Русский язык богат интонационными конструкциями. Сегодня мы поговорим об интонации переспроса или уточнения. Чтобы уточнить информацию о человеке или объекте, мы используем ИК-3. Russian language is rich in intonation constructions. Today we will talk about the tone of questioning on the purpose of clarification . To clarify information about a person or object, we use IC #3. Особенность ИК-3 состоит в том, что резкое повышение тона происходит на слове, заключающем вопрос, затем следует глубокое понижение тона. The peculiarity of IС-3: a sharp increase in tone occurs on the word concluding the question (actually on the stressed syllable), then it is followed by a deep decrease in tone. Пример . При указании на предмет или лицо используется конструкция:  Это + существительное (П.1 - что?) . Указательное местоимение это употребляется в случае, когда мы называем один или несколько предметов. Если в предложении перечисляются предметы или лица, используется соединительный союз и . Посмотрим на картинку: Пример. Это чай и кофе. When you point to an object or person, use this construction: Это + noun (case 1 - what?) . The demonstrative pronoun это is used when we name one or more objects. If the phrase lists objects or persons, use copulative conjunction и . Look at the example picture. Это чай  и  кофе. Составьте свои предложения по образцу: Это (что?) и (что?). Russian words consist of syllables.  A syllable is a sound or group of sounds which are pronounced in one blow: и, он, па-па, лам-па >   Слушайте | Listen Any syllable includes vowel.  You can count the number of syllables in the word by counting vowels: лес (1), дом (1), снег (1) мама (2), книга (2) >  Слушайте | Listen Syllables can be stressed and unstressed. In the words containing one syllable the only vowel is accented. Т а м , зд е сь , бл о г >  Слушайте | Listen Longer words containing 2, 3 and more syllables have one stressed syllable and other syllables are unstressed: ма́-ма, ка́р-та, лу-на́ >  Слушайте | Listen Russian stress is not fixed. There are 33 letters in Russian alphabet.  Some letters give more than one sound.   Слушать алфавит | Listen to the alphabeth If you are curious as cat and would like to know about the history of Russian alphabeth, visit this  page . On that site you can find as well words depicting Russian letters: it's  here . Letters  Ь   and   Ъ   don’t produce any special sound themselves. They make the previous consonants sound softer (in case of  ь ) or harder (in case of  ъ ). Learning tips: make sure to learn the how Russian printed and handwritten letters look like.
