These vowels like changes | Эти гласные любят меняться



If you stumble upon multisyllables, you should keep in mind that Russian vowels  А and О in unstressed position sound reduced. That doesn't mean that stressed vowel sounds longer. Stressed vowels, as we noted before, sound bright and clear. And unstressed vowels А and О sound as short [а]. If you are into philology, then let us note two kinds of reduction.
The first one is quantitative reduction, which means that unstressed vowels А and О sound shorter than stressed vowels.

Ко́мната [ко́мната] 3:1:1   Слушайте | Listen

The second kind of reduction is qualitative. It's when unstressed  О sounds as short [а].

Молоко́ [малако́] 1:1:3    Слушайте | Listen
Хорошо́ [харашо́] 1:1:3
Она́ [ана́] 1:3

ЖИ-ШИ: пиши с И, говори Ы | ЖИ-ШИ: write И say Ы

Ж/Ш + И Согласные звуки [ж] и [ш] в русском языке всегда твёрдые. Поэтому когда на письме после Ж / Ш идёт буква и, читать и произносить её надо как [ы]. Russian consonants [ ж ] and [ ш ] always sound hard. So there is a rule that after letters ж or ш we write и but read it as [ ы ]. В третьем уроке у вас есть слова: In the third lesson you can find words: жир – [жыр]   / fat / машина – [ машына ] /a car or machinery or equipment/ Ж в конце слова Ж in the end of words Ж конце слова в русском языке звучит как [ш]. Ж in the end of words sounds as [ ш ]. Сравните: нож – карандаш [ш] / a knife – a pencil / Ж + глухой согласный | Ж + unvoiced consonant Ж в середине слова перед глухим согласным читаем как [ш]. Letters as memorials | Буквы-памятники

Вы уже изучили русский алфавит. Самое время узнать о буквах больше!  В России есть несколько памятников, посвящённых буквам русского алфавита. Памятник букве А находится в Новосибирске . Буква А появилась в 2007 году в парке у театра Глобус. Это работа русского дизайнера Петра Шабалина. You have already studied the Russian alphabet. It's time to learn more about letters!
