If you stumble upon multisyllables, you should keep in mind that Russian vowels А and О in unstressed position sound reduced. That doesn't mean that stressed vowel sounds longer. Stressed vowels, as we noted before, sound bright and clear. And unstressed vowels А and О sound as short [а]. If you are into philology, then let us note two kinds of reduction.
The first one is quantitative reduction, which means that unstressed vowels А and О sound shorter than stressed vowels.
Ко́мната [ко́мната] 3:1:1 Слушайте | Listen
The second kind of reduction is qualitative. It's when unstressed О sounds as short [а].
Молоко́ [малако́] 1:1:3 Слушайте | Listen
Хорошо́ [харашо́] 1:1:3
Она́ [ана́] 1:3
